DracoEMS Quality EMS Education
For instructors

Teach from a single dashboard and see exactly how every student is doing.

You already know how to teach EMTs. DracoEMS takes the rest off your desk: the textbook, the audio and video, the practice questions, the chapter tests, the gradebook, the skill sheets, and the messages, all connected and all updating as your students work. Instructor accounts are free.

Why instructors choose DracoEMS

Better teaching starts with knowing which students need help.

Most of an instructor's week goes to finding out where students are. DracoEMS answers that the moment you open your dashboard, so your time goes to the teaching only you can do.

Reach students early

Reading progress, time on task, and test scores update the moment students work, and at-risk flags point out who needs a conversation this week, while there is still plenty of term left to help.

A gradebook that fills itself

Chapter tests grade themselves the moment they are submitted. Scores, averages, and completion roll up per student and per cohort, and grades export whenever your program asks for them.

Assign the term once

Choose the chapters and tests for your term and set the due dates once. Every student's syllabus and calendar fill in to match, and when you move a date, it moves for the whole class.

Skill check-offs in the lab

Record each student's psychomotor skill check-offs against the skill sheets from a tablet, and see the whole cohort's matrix at a glance. Every attempt, evaluator, and date is kept.

Message without sharing your number

Send a note to the whole class or to one student from the same screen. Students ask their questions inside the platform, and your personal phone number and email stay yours.

Every student, accommodated

Students with documented accommodations get extended time on every test, set once by you. Narration, captions, and full keyboard operation are built in for everyone.

Your class at a glance

Everything about your class fits on one screen.

Class averages sit at the top. Each row shows one student's reading progress, tests taken, average score, and last activity, with at-risk students flagged. See only the students assigned to you, across every term you teach. This is the screen instructors keep open all term.

Psychomotor skills

Check off skills the moment a student demonstrates them.

When a student shows you a bag-valve-mask ventilation or a bleeding control in the lab, record the pass, the retry, and the date right there. The cohort's skills matrix stays current, and each student sees their verified skills on their own progress page.

Messaging

Every question lands in the right place.

Students message you inside DracoEMS, and the conversation stays with the cohort. Answer once, point them to the section to re-read, and see the retake show up in your gradebook the next day.

Question about the Chapter 14 test
Hi — on the Chapter 14 test I missed the two questions about ventricular fibrillation. Is there a section I should re-read before I retake it?
Yes — go back to 14.6, “Recognizing Cardiac Arrest,” and the rationale on both questions. You have two attempts left, and your Trauma scores this week were excellent.
Thank you! Re-reading tonight and retaking tomorrow.

Student outcomes

Students who practice this way walk into the NREMT ready.

Every part of the student experience is built around the habits that produce passing scores.

They read the whole book

Plain language, narration for the commute, and a video for every lesson mean students finish chapters instead of skimming them.

They learn from every miss

Every NREMT-style question carries a rationale, so a wrong answer becomes the moment the concept sticks.

They know what to study next

The advisor shows scores by NREMT area and recommends the next chapter to revisit, with a realistic time estimate.

They keep preparing

Access lasts 12 months and includes DracoEMTPrep, so review continues right up to exam day.

Good to know

Questions instructors ask

The questions instructors ask most often before they bring their first cohort onto DracoEMS.

What does it cost me as an instructor?

Nothing. Instructor and school accounts are free and never expire. Your program pays $49.99 for each student it adds, and that student's 12 months include the textbook, the workbook, the audio and video, every test, and DracoEMTPrep.

Do I have to change my approved curriculum?

Your approval stays exactly as it is. DracoEMS is the textbook, the practice, the tests, and the tools underneath the course you already teach, mapped chapter by chapter to the National EMS Education Standards.

How long does setup take?

About an hour. Create the cohort, add students by email, choose the chapters and tests for the term, and set the due dates. DracoEMS sends the invitations, builds each student's syllabus, and grades the tests.

Can I share a cohort with another instructor?

Yes. A lead instructor creates the cohort and adds other instructors to it. Each instructor sees the students assigned to them, and the gradebook stays shared across the team.

What if a student cannot pay?

Programs buy student seats, so students never pay individually when their program adds them. Seats can be bought online or by purchase order, a few at a time or for the whole class.
