Pricing

One payment covers a full year of access.

Students pay once and keep the whole course for a full year — plenty of time to finish an EMT course and come back to review for the NREMT exam. Instructors and schools use the platform at no cost and pay only for the students they add, at a lower per-student price.

Every student plan includes the complete course for 12 months — the interactive textbook, the digital textbook and workbook, audio narration, lesson videos, practice, NREMT-style chapter tests, and a full year of NREMT prep through DracoEMTPrep. Students pay $99 directly, or a program adds them for $49.99 a student. Instructors and schools pay nothing.

Foundations of Prehospital Emergency Care is the complete EMT theory course in one volume, written by working EMS educators and organized around the National EMS Education Standards. Every chapter opens with the objectives a student is expected to meet, teaches the science behind the skill, and closes with a summary and review questions that explain why each answer is right.

  • Every content area of the EMT curriculum — preparatory and EMS operations, anatomy and pathophysiology, airway and ventilation, patient assessment, pharmacology, shock and resuscitation, medical emergencies, trauma, and special populations from obstetrics to geriatrics
  • Current clinical guidance — CPR, AED, hemorrhage control, and airway practice reflect the 2025 AHA guidelines and today's EMT scope of practice
  • Field-ready teaching — step-by-step assessment sequences, "In the field" scenarios, key terms in context, tables and illustrations, and the reasoning an EMT uses under pressure
  • The same edition students read online, so a class can mix print and digital without losing their place

Add the printed student workbook.

The DracoEMS Student Workbook is where the theory becomes practice. It follows Foundations of Prehospital Emergency Care chapter by chapter, so a student can read a chapter, then work it — answer NREMT-style questions with full rationales, run the skill sheets they will be tested on, and reason through real patient cases before they meet one.

  • Psychomotor skill sheets laid out the way examiners score them — patient assessment (medical and trauma), oxygen and bag-valve-mask ventilation, bleeding control and shock, spinal motion restriction, splinting, and cardiac arrest with an AED
  • NREMT-style practice for every chapter with a rationale for each answer, plus key-term reviews, vital-sign drills, medication cards, and documentation practice
  • Case studies that walk a call from dispatch to hand-off, asking the student to decide what to do next — and an answer key at the back
  • Included digitally with every online subscription; in print for classes that want a hard copy

Good to know

Pricing questions, answered.

How does the one-time price work?

You pay once, and your access runs for a full year from the day you activate it. A standard EMT course fits inside that window with months to spare, so you can keep reviewing right up to your NREMT exam.

How long does access last?

Student access runs for 12 months from activation, whether the student paid directly or a program added them. Most students finish the course itself in four to six months and use the rest of the year to review for the NREMT exam. Instructor and school access never expires.

Do instructors or schools pay anything?

No. Instructors and schools use DracoEMS at no cost, for as long as they teach. A program pays $49.99 for each student it adds, and that student's 12 months of access includes everything in the student plan.

How does per-student pricing work for programs?

Your program buys the number of student seats it needs at $49.99 each and assigns them as you enroll students. Each seat gives one student 12 months of the full course, the digital textbook and workbook, and NREMT prep through DracoEMTPrep. Larger programs and districts get volume pricing — request a quote.

Is the printed book required?

No. The full textbook is included in every plan. The printed book is there for people who prefer paper or want class sets, and you can order it direct at any time.

Can we pay by purchase order or invoice?

Yes — for programs and districts. Reach out and we'll set up a purchase order or invoice.
