DracoEMS is simple for instructors to run and clear for students to follow.
One instructor can set up a full cohort in about an hour. From the first day, every student knows what to read, when it is due, and how they are doing, and you can see all of it from one dashboard.
Your roster becomes a running class in four steps.
Setup takes about an hour. You create the cohort, assign the term, and teach from the dashboard. DracoEMS sends the invitations, builds each student's syllabus, grades the tests, and keeps the gradebook current.
Create your cohort
Name the class and add your students by email. Each student receives a private invitation and creates their own account, so every login belongs to one student and their work is always their own.
Assign the term
Choose the chapters and tests for your term and set the due dates once. Every student's syllabus and calendar fill in to match, and when you move a date, it moves for the whole class.
Teach from the dashboard
Progress, time on task, and scores update the moment students work, so your office hours go to the two or three people who need you most that week.
Record skill check-offs
When a student demonstrates a hands-on skill in the lab, record the check-off against the skill sheet from your tablet or laptop. The whole cohort's skills matrix stays current as you go.
Everything about your class fits on one screen.
Class averages sit at the top. Each row below shows one student's reading progress, tests taken, average score, and last activity, with at-risk students flagged, so you can see who is on pace and who could use a conversation. This is the screen instructors keep open all term.
- See only the students assigned to you, across every term you teach.
- Message the whole class or one student from the same screen.
- Export grades whenever your program asks for them.
| Student | Progress | Last test |
|---|---|---|
| ANA. Nguyen | 88 | |
| MRM. Ruiz | Behind | |
| KPK. Patel | On track |
Students read each chapter, hear it, practice it, and show what they know.
That steady rhythm turns a 42-chapter course into visible progress, one chapter at a time, and every student always knows the one thing to do next.
Read or listen
Students move through each chapter on screen, with narrated audio, or with the lesson video, at whatever pace real life allows.
Check their understanding as they go
Knowledge checks sit in the flow of each lesson, and every answer comes with the reasoning behind it.
Take the test
Timed chapter tests use the same question formats the NREMT exam uses, and each test grades itself the moment it is submitted.
See their progress add up
Progress and scores climb chapter by chapter, and the dashboard always shows the one thing due next.
A student's first day starts with an email.
The invitation arrives with a private link. The student sets a password, lands on their dashboard, and finds the first chapter waiting with its due date. From there, Chapter 1 is a tap away on a phone, a tablet, or a laptop.
- A private invitation, so every account belongs to one student.
- The syllabus and due dates are already filled in on arrival.
- The same course in any browser or in the mobile app.
Every chapter can be read, heard, or watched.
Each lesson pairs clear text with narrated audio, a lesson video, and a knowledge check placed right where it matters. A student can read one section at the kitchen table, listen to the next on the drive to clinicals, and pick up exactly where they left off.
- Narrated audio for every chapter, with speed control and resume.
- A lesson video for the concepts that click faster when you see them.
- Knowledge checks in the flow of reading, with feedback that explains the reasoning.
The primary assessment is your first, rapid pass at a patient — a systematic search for anything that could take a life in the next few minutes. Form a general impression, check responsiveness, then work airway, breathing, and circulation in order, fixing each threat before you move to the next.
An adult is unresponsive with slow, shallow breathing. What is your immediate priority?
Questions program directors ask
The questions we hear most often when a program is deciding whether DracoEMS fits its course.
Does DracoEMS replace our approved curriculum?
Your approval stays exactly as it is. DracoEMS is the textbook, the practice, the tests, and the instructor tools underneath the course you already teach. You keep your syllabus, your schedule, and your standards.
Can two instructors share a cohort?
Yes. A lead instructor creates the cohort and adds other instructors to it. Each instructor sees the students assigned to them, and the gradebook stays shared across the team.
What do students need to get started?
A web browser on a phone, tablet, or laptop, and the invitation email from you. There is nothing to install, and the mobile app gives students the same course on the go.
How long does a student's access last?
A full year from activation. Most students finish the course itself in four to six months and use the rest of the year to review for the NREMT exam. Programs can line their seats up with their term dates.
What happens when a student joins late?
Invite them the day they join. They receive the same private link, their syllabus fills in from the current assignments, and their progress starts counting from the first chapter they open.
See it with your own class.
